The Calgary Flames placed forward Connor Zary and defenseman Brayden Pachal on waivers Monday, TSN reported, following three losses to open the season.

Calgary had been outscored 16-3, including Sunday’s 6-1 loss to Seattle. The waiver placements are separate from a completed claim or assignment to the American Hockey League.

Zary, 25, has one assist in two games this season after recording 12 goals and 13 assists in 74 games in 2025-26, according to TSN. Calgary selected him 24th overall in the 2020 draft.

Pachal, 27, has yet to play this season. The defenseman had one goal and six assists in 39 games for Calgary last season. The Flames acquired him from Vegas during the 2023-24 season.
