Kraken activate Samoskevich for debut against Oilers
Mackie Samoskevich is back from an upper-body injury and will make his Seattle debut Saturday in Edmonton. Jacob Melanson moves to injured reserve.

The Seattle Kraken activated Mackie Samoskevich from injured reserve for his team debut against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, according to the club’s game-day report.
The forward missed Seattle’s 6–1 season-opening win in Calgary with an upper-body injury. Jacob Melanson has moved to injured reserve, creating the roster opening for Samoskevich’s return.
Samoskevich practiced on the fourth line Friday, but coach Lane Lambert had not announced his game assignment at the reporting cutoff. The Kraken said Lambert would assess how he progressed after returning from injury.
Seattle visits Rogers Place at 7 p.m. ET, 5 p.m. MDT. The Kraken enter 1–0–0; Edmonton is 1–0–1.
The Oilers are coming off a 9–7 victory over Vancouver. TSP’s report on McDavid’s five-point night covers Edmonton’s most recent win and the new dressing-room helmet award.
