Steelers Activate DeShon Elliott From Injured Reserve
Pittsburgh added the safety to its active roster Saturday and elevated receivers Brandon Johnson and Brandon Smith for the Saints game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers activated safety DeShon Elliott from injured reserve Saturday ahead of their game against the New Orleans Saints in Paris, the team announced.
Elliott returned to practice October 8, opening a 21-day window for Pittsburgh to add him to the active roster. He had been placed on injured reserve August 30. Saturday’s move resolves that roster decision before the window expires.
The Steelers also elevated wide receivers Brandon Johnson and Brandon Smith from the practice squad for the Saints game. Both will return to the practice squad afterward under the announced moves. Johnson was also elevated for last week’s game at Tampa Bay; Smith was elevated for the past two games.
Elliott is in his third season with Pittsburgh. He has played 77 career games, starting 69, according to the team’s release.
The roster announcement did not establish Elliott’s starting role or snap count Sunday. Pittsburgh faces New Orleans at Stade de France, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 a.m. MDT.
