MotoGP launched an Academy program to build a network of racing schools and institutions, the championship announced October 21. The initiative joins its Road to MotoGP development pathway, with particular attention to regions where access to motorcycle racing remains limited.

Participating organizations must satisfy requirements covering infrastructure, training methods, technical delivery and brand visibility before receiving the MotoGP Academy designation. Approved partners will receive tailored toolkits, promotional support, branding and discounts on MotoGP products.

Academies will carry the name of their nation, region or continent. MotoGP said larger countries and markets could have multiple locations, while others could have a national hub. It cited the FIM MotoMini World Series as a model for the geographical naming approach.

The program is intended to develop young riders while giving the championship local centers that promote two-wheel racing. The launch announcement did not identify the first approved schools or provide an opening timetable for individual locations.
