Jake Bauers Wins NLCS MVP After Brewers Sweep Dodgers
Bauers drives in six runs and becomes Milwaukee’s first League Championship Series MVP as the Brewers return to the World Series.

Jake Bauers won the National League Championship Series MVP award after Milwaukee completed its four-game sweep of the Dodgers on Thursday. His six RBIs led the Brewers, who reached the World Series for the first time since 1982.
Bauers had a hit in every game of the series. In the 6-4 clincher, his two-run ground-rule double cut an early four-run deficit in half, and his bases-loaded walk later brought home the tying run. MLB.com’s award report identifies him as the first Brewers player to win an LCS MVP award.
Two earlier plate appearances helped define his series: a 12-pitch walk against Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2 and an 11-pitch home run against Blake Snell in Game 3. TSP’s pitch-by-pitch examination follows those prolonged contests.
Milwaukee’s previous pennant came in the American League in 1982, when the LCS MVP went to the Angels’ Fred Lynn despite California losing the series. Bauers’s award adds another distinction to the Brewers’ first National League pennant.
