Rays beat Guardians 3–1 to even the ALCS
Freddy Peralta’s six scoreless innings and Liam Hicks’ two-run single help Tampa Bay tie the series at 1–1.

Freddy Peralta pitched six scoreless innings and Liam Hicks drove in two runs as the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Cleveland Guardians 3–1 Tuesday night at Tropicana Field, evening the American League Championship Series at one game apiece.
Tampa Bay scored all three runs in the fourth inning after a José Ramírez fielding error. Ben Williamson’s grounder went through Ramírez’s legs, and Hicks followed with a single to right-center. The runs were unearned against Cleveland starter Parker Messick.
Peralta allowed four hits before turning the game over to Tampa Bay’s bullpen. Chase DeLauter’s RBI double brought Cleveland within two in the seventh, but Ian Seymour stranded two runners by striking out Jo Adell and then pitched a perfect eighth.
Bryan Baker closed with a perfect ninth for his fourth postseason save. Messick allowed six hits and three unearned runs over five innings. Game 3 is Thursday in Cleveland, with Griffin Jax scheduled for Tampa Bay and Gavin Williams expected to start for the Guardians.
