Hockey Fights Cancer and the V Foundation will invest $100,000 in cancer research Tuesday, October 13, as the NHL’s Frozen Frenzy opens the initiative’s 2026-27 campaign.

The NHL and NHLPA announced the investment alongside a night involving all 32 teams. U.S. whiparound coverage on ESPN2, Disney+ and the ESPN App will feature stories from across the league and encourage additional donations.

The campaign is entering its 28th season. It raised $9.1 million during 2025-26, with more than $4.6 million directed toward research through the V Foundation. The partnership has awarded 42 grants in 22 NHL markets over the past three seasons.

All 32 clubs will hold awareness nights during the season, with November remaining the league-wide celebration month. The campaign also includes a fundraising sweepstakes involving Colorado defenseman Josh Manson and Utah forward Clayton Keller ahead of the 2027 Winter Classic.

Later themed broadcasts are planned on Prime Video in Canada, TNT in the United States and Sportsnet in Canada. Our Frozen Frenzy viewing guide has Tuesday’s game times and broadcast options.
