Dylan Cease said an MRI showed inflammation in his right shoulder without structural damage after the Blue Jays removed him from his scheduled Wednesday start.

Speaking Monday, Cease said he did not expect the problem to require surgery or affect his 2027 season. Toronto has not established when he will pitch again.
