A proposed trade that would have sent All-Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Baltimore Ravens collapsed after Baltimore raised concerns during Crosby’s physical examination.¹

The two clubs had reached an agreement in principle that would have sent multiple high draft selections—reportedly including a first-round pick—from Baltimore to Las Vegas in exchange for the four-time Pro Bowl defensive end.¹ The transaction, however, was contingent upon Crosby passing a medical evaluation before the deal could be finalized.

According to multiple reports, the Ravens’ medical staff flagged issues related to Crosby’s recovery from offseason knee surgery.² The 28-year-old underwent a procedure in January to repair a torn meniscus after playing through the injury during much of the 2025 season.² Once Baltimore reviewed the medical results, the organization declined to complete the trade.

Crosby remained productive despite the injury. In 2025 he appeared in 15 games for the Raiders, recording 10 sacks, 73 total tackles, and two forced fumbles while continuing to rank among the NFL’s most disruptive edge rushers.³ His relentless motor and high snap counts have made him the centerpiece of Las Vegas’ defensive identity since entering the league in 2019.

Baltimore’s withdrawal sends both teams back to the drawing board. The Ravens retain their draft capital but continue searching for pass-rush help after finishing near the bottom of the league in sacks last season.¹ Las Vegas, meanwhile, retains one of the league’s premier defensive players as it navigates an uncertain offseason.

Crosby’s representatives disputed any suggestion that the injury could affect his readiness for the upcoming season, stating that the defensive end remains ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation.²

For now, one of the offseason’s most significant potential trades disappears before ever reaching the NFL transaction wire.
