The Arizona Cardinals have received inquiries regarding quarterback Kyler Murray as teams survey the 2026 offseason quarterback market. League sources indicate Arizona is willing to listen to offers, though no deal is imminent.
Murray turns 29 in August 2026. Drafted first overall in 2019, he has started 82 regular-season games and holds a 38–44–1 record.¹ Through seven seasons, Murray has thrown for 22,814 career passing yards with 140 touchdown passes and 68 interceptions.¹ He has also added 3,000+ rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns, reflecting his dual-threat profile.¹
In 2025, Murray appeared in 15 games and finished with 3,412 passing yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, posting a 91.7 passer rating.² His completion percentage (66.4%) and yards per attempt (7.3) were consistent with his career averages.²
There has been no public trade request from Murray. Arizona’s front office has not issued a formal declaration of availability, but league executives characterize the situation as exploratory.
Contract structure is central to any movement. According to OverTheCap, Murray is scheduled to carry a 2026 cap hit of approximately $49.8 million.³ A pre–June 1 release would accelerate roughly $81 million in dead money onto Arizona’s 2026 salary cap.³ A post–June 1 designation would reduce the 2026 charge but still leave significant dead money allocated into 2027.³ A trade would transfer remaining base salary obligations to the acquiring team, while Arizona would remain responsible for prorated signing bonus amounts already accounted for.
As of now, no transaction has been completed. Murray remains under contract entering his age-29 season, with seven years of starting experience and prior Pro Bowl production.
